Is professional installation required?
WallWell panels can be installed in three easy steps: apply adhesive, mount on the wall, and secure with screws. Different wall surfaces may require specific screws. Refer to our installation guide for details.
Are faux stone panels waterproof?
Yes, when properly installed following the guidelines, faux stone panels provide a waterproof barrier. While the panels, ledgers, and trim are made from waterproof materials, the use of caulking and adhesive is essential to ensuring a fully weather-resistant installation.
How do you cut faux stone panels?
All panels, ledgers, trim, caps, and pillar panels can be cut using standard hand or power saws. For precise, small cuts, a hand saw or utility knife is recommended, while a table saw or circular saw is ideal for most other cutting needs.
What types of fasteners are needed?
For exterior installations, panels should be secured with 1.625" non-corrosive deck screws when attaching to wood or certain stucco surfaces, while ledgers require 2.50" non-corrosive deck screws. When installing on concrete, brick, or most stucco surfaces, Tapcon concrete anchors are the best option.
For interior projects, drywall screws can be used when mounting panels over drywall. However, for installations over brick, concrete, or other rigid surfaces, Tapcon screws are recommended to ensure a secure hold.
I received panels that are slightly warped; is this normal?
Yes, slight flexibility is a natural property of polyurethane. Minor curvature won’t affect the quality or appearance after installation.
How do I install faux stone panels over brick or stucco?
Installing over brick or stucco follows a process similar to covering concrete. Apply a suitable construction adhesive, such as PL 300, in an "S" pattern on the back of each panel, ledger, and trim. Secure them further using Tapcon concrete anchors.
For those who may want to remove the panels in the future, some customers opt to install a barrier like Tyvek® HomeWrap® over the surface before installation.
How should I handle corners during installation?
Use matching corner pieces for a seamless look, or cut panels at a 45-degree angle for a clean joint. Vertical alignment is also an option. See our installation guide for more tips.
Can faux stone wall panels be installed on concrete?
Yes, covering concrete surfaces is a common application. To ensure a secure installation, apply a suitable construction adhesive, such as PL 300, to the back of each panel, ledger, or trim. Additionally, use Tapcon concrete anchors to firmly fasten each piece in place.
